An annual tradition of mine is going with friends and family to the Festival of Trees, held at the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA). It’s a great start to the holiday season, and there are so many gorgeous trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses.

The Orlando Museum of Art generally picks a theme to go with other exhibits that they are hosting. This year’s theme was Hip Holiday! which was gave it a early 1960′s feel.

Even though there were hundreds of decorated trees to choose from, I focused more on the amazing tiny ornaments hung from the trees. I hope that you enjoy these collages and check out the Festival of Trees next year at the Orlando Museum of Art!

As I mentioned in a recent posting, I am now offering premiere engagement sessions. These extended portrait sessions are longer than the typical sessions. It usually allows for several wardrobe changes as well as shooting at different locations. I’m going to be announcing a promotion soon for my premiere engagement photography sessions. So, keep an eye out for that!

I recently did a premiere couples portrait session with Molli and Logan. The couple met several years ago at the Ohio State University, where they were both attended, and have subsequently graduated from. Molli is currently a graduate student at University of Central Florida in Orlando. While Logan moved out west after graduating from Ohio State.

We chose to do the first part of the portrait session at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Rollins College is the oldest university in Florida, founded in 1885. After checking out the grounds of the university, I know that the portrait session had to take advantage of the amazing architecture at the school.

The couple looked AMAZING in the 1940s style outfits that they wore. Molli, in her red dress, looked as if she had just popped out of a 1943 Coca Cola advertisement. Logan was a natural in front of the camera. The chemistry between these two was fantastic.

We took a lot of the photos around the grounds of the gorgeous Knowles Memorial Chapel. Built in 1932, Knowles Chapel is a beautiful piece of architecture and the grounds around the outsider were gorgeous. I have since put Knowles Chapel on my wish list for wedding ceremony locations that I want to shoot at.

There were so many great pictures over the course of their photo session that I’m going to be breaking up the pictures into three parts. I decided to play around these first photos as well, making them look a little more faded, giving them a classic feel.

I hope that you enjoy these images!

It’s been a busy couple of months. But, I’m finally getting the chance to catch up on the blog.

I was asked by one of my assistant photographers to photograph her sister-in-law’s wedding and I was happy to help out considering all of the great work she has been able to contribute to DSWfoto over the years.

Mary and Eugene’s wedding took place at the Lake Mary Events Center in downtown Lake Mary, Florida. The downtown area was recently redeveloped and this beautiful new facility was a great addition. The outdoor ceremony was held on the event lawn while the sun set over Crystal Lake. The reception was held in the rotunda room.

Since it was a December wedding, there were several hints of the holidays. The outdoor trellises were decked out in Christmas greens and red carnations. The gorgeous wedding cake looked like a pile of gifts ready to open with ribbons and sugar poinsettias attached. There was also a cookie table, which is a tradition of the groom’s family.

Thank you Mary and Eugene for including me in your day and best wishes!

I first met Maria and Blake in April, when I did an engagement photo session with them at Dr. Phillips Park. Maria was already in wedding preparation mode — even her cell phone ringtone was changed to the bridal march. [Link to engagement photos]

Fast forward six months to a beautiful October day in Orlando. The bride and her attendants spent a relaxed morning getting ready and taking some pre-wedding formal photos at the Orlando Hilton Bonnet Creek resort, while the guys kicked back with some football and dressed for the day.

The ceremony was held at the Marie Williams Chapel at the First Baptist Church of Orlando. As the sun set over Lake Jessamine, an elegant nighttime reception kicked off at Cypress Grove Park, where guests enjoyed fantastic food and music. There was also a sweets table with everything from Skittles to Hershey’s kisses!

Guests blew bubbles at the bride & groom as they exited the 1925 estate house – a perfect end to a perfect day.

Special thank you to Jason and Sara who served as assistants for this wedding.

Congratulations Maria and Blake and thank you for including us in your day! You have our permission to enjoy that ringtone a little longer!
