I first met LaTasha and Joshua last year at the Starbucks in Celebration, Florida. He was living in Los Angeles. She was living in Miami. And, they were getting married in Orlando. Sounds like the cities of the NBA Playoffs!

I was very excited to be photographing their wedding!

The wedding was held in late June at the Radisson Hotel in Celebration, Florida. It was an absolutely beautiful day, and everyone had a great time. There were so many special touches and the decorations and flowers were fabulous.

During the reception, Josh made a speech and gave Tash a very special gift. That was just one of the many things that stood out to me. It’s so fantastic when you see a couple who love and care for one another so much.

We shot the wedding of an extremely sweet couple this past weekend – LaTasha and Josh. And, although we’re just starting to go through the pictures, I had to share a little sneak preview with everyone.

It was a gorgeous day in Celebration, and the Florida sunshine kept any rain clouds away. We can’t wait to share more images from this wedding with everyone! Please check back for more!!

Celebration, Florida - Wedding Photographer

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of being the photographer at Angela and Kevin’s wedding in Toledo, Ohio. The ceremony was held at the Warren AME church in downtown Toledo with a fun, lively reception at the Charles E. Gesu’s Sullivan Center to follow. In between, we took advantage of the beautiful spring day in Ohio for some formal (and fun) photos at the Toledo Botanical Gardens with the newlyweds and their wedding party.

We worked alongside Fordham Footage – Northwest Ohio’s premiere cinematographer – as we captured images of the day. Here are some of our favorites:

Several weeks ago, I had the opportunity to photograph Gertie and Federico’s wedding. They were married on an absolutely gorgeous spring day in Orlando.

Family and friends gathered for a beautiful ceremony at the Cathederal of the Incarnation in the College Park section of Orlando.

After the ceremony, I accompanied the bride and groom to Lake Eola for formal pictures. We then joined the guests at the Embassy Suites on International Drive for a fantastic reception with wonderful food and music.

The Summerlin House at Thornton Park

Several weeks ago, I had the fortune to photograph Trina and David’s wedding. Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at The Summerlin House near Lake Eola in the heart of downtown Orlando. This large estate, built in 1915, is perfect for weddings and receptions. Affiliated with the Veranda Bed and Breakfast, the Summerlin House has several large courtyards that can be utilized. The Veranda offers quaint lodging options to house out of town guests or as a wedding suite.

The bridal suite located upstairs in The Summerlin House, has several spacious rooms – perfect for the bridal party to get ready.  And downstairs is a warm and comfortable setting that can be used to host cocktail hours or small receptions.

For more information on The Summerlin House, please visit their website.

Tomorrow is the official start of Photoshop World. However, there were nine different pre-con classes offered today. I had the opportunity to participate in David Ziser’s Wedding Photography class. David is a legend when it comes to Wedding Photography, and has been shooting weddings in the Cincinnati, Ohio area for over 40 years.

David is a great teacher and photographer, and he demonstrated many of the principles that are also in his recently release book, Captured by the Light.

After our initial lecture we had the opportunity to photograph images around the Orange County Convention Center. David showed how to find beauty and grace in what many others would consider a industrial business setting. From there, we travelled to St. Jude’s Catholic Church in the Dr. Phillips area of Orlando. This is a smaller, but very pretty church with beautiful bright stained glass windows. We then headed back to the convention center for more conversation.

It was one of those classes where anyone from a 40-year pro to a first-day shooter would glimmer many nuggets of great information. After class was over, I had David sign my book which has definitely gotten a read or two.

As much as I enjoyed the instruction by David (who can somehow fit 24 hours of material into 6), I am a little put off by other students in these classes who find it in their best interest to elbow their way to the front always and take hundreds of pictures.  Common courtesy when attending classes: get your shot and then give others a chance.

Below are just a few of the images that I captured along with some pictures that show the educational portion.  A big thank you to David Ziser and his wife, LaDawn, for their hard work. Thank yous also go to Damian, the hardest working wedding photography assistant for a Tuesday afternoon, and to Kayla and Michael, two fantastic and easy-going models.

My day continues tomorrow with the official kick off of Photoshop World. Please come back for an overview of more cool classes – and more photos!

Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year is the Wedding Pavilion at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.  Situated on its own private island, the pavilion can hold up to 300 wedding guests.  While there are many different locations across Walt Disney World where couples can be married, the Wedding Pavilion is by far the most popular, hosting as many as five weddings a day.  The backdrop to the altar is a window which perfectly frames Cinderella Castle.

On the island is the bridal vestibule, a private area where the bride and bridesmaids can get ready.  Also, across the way is Franck’s Studio.  Named after the character portrayed by Martin Short in Father of the Bride, Franck’s is the location where you meet with the Disney wedding coordinators to discuss and plan all of the details of the wedding.  Franck’s is not open to the general public and can be visited by appointment only.

A popular destination wedding location, Walt Disney World is also very popular for vow renewals.  As a result, Disney is very accommodating to requests that a couple may have including hotel accommodations, theme park admission, and transportation.  Disney is great at customizing everything about the wedding day to match the couple’s taste and style.  Disney can provide photographers for the day for a premium, however, you are more than welcome to use your own photographer.
