Gretchen and Peyton were so much fun – we had a blast doing their engagement session in Tampa and Clearwater Beach, Florida.
The park in Tampa was the place where Peyton proposed, so we knew it was the perfect place to start their photo session. On Christmas morning in 2011, Gretchen woke up to find a gift bag from Peyton. It contained a map drawn on antique-looking paper that directed her to a bridge overlooking a lake not too far from her apartment. It was a quick drive, but upon urging from her parents, she decided to walk to enjoy the beautiful Florida morning (and probably causing poor Peyton to get more nervous by the second!) As she approached the bridge, she saw Peyton in a suit and tie and just knew. (Cue the collective “awww…” – every time I hear the story, it gives me the same nice feeling).
You can tell they just enjoy being together and are just very excited about getting married and building their future together. Gretchen is bubbly and outgoing where Peyton is more reserved, but the combination of the two brings out the best in both of them.
We had a great time with the photos, talking with them in the weeks before about “what do we wear” and “what do we do” – we just said be your wonderful selves and let’s have fun. The day and the company lent itself to just that. After a few “getting used to having paparazzi take their picture” moments, they really showed how comfortable they were with each other and how much fun they have together.
We’d say even their Yorkie Gracie had a good time, though she may have preferred to be chasing the squirrels.
Please enjoy some of our favorite photos from the day – and stay tuned for “part two” of their engagement session on Clearwater Beach.
